The Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) is pleased to announce that it is now accepting applications for the SIAC China Internship Programme.


The programme will provide valuable insight into working at a leading global arbitral institution. The internship programme is open to candidates who are based in Shanghai.

Details on how to apply for the programme are set out below:

Tasks

  1. Assist with research on related legal and commercial developments in international arbitration;

  2. Assist with preparation of drafts and translation of documents;

  3. Assist with organization of online and in-person events in China;

  4. Assist with updates to SIAC's website and social media account;

  5. Undertake such other work as may be assigned.


Application Window

The closing date for applications is 31 July 2023.

Duration of Internship

The internship will be for a fixed period of three months. You are expected to be present in SIAC’s Shanghai office for 2-3 days a week, unless otherwise agreed. You may expect to perform remote work during the rest of your working days.

Term Schedule

Please indicate (as specifically as possible) (i) preferred commencement date; and (ii) preferred dates which you are able to be present in the office.

Allowance

You will be entitled to a monthly allowance of CNY 1,200 (before tax) which serves as a stipend supporting travel and meal expenses incurred during the period of internship.
 

Eligibility

You are required to ensure that you have complied with your university’s / college’s policies and/or the relevant government regulations, if any, to undertake this internship from your current country of residence and/or other relevant jurisdictions.

Application Package

  1. Curriculum Vitae;
  2. Copies of your college/university and/or postgraduate transcripts;
  3. A 3-min video (either in English or Mandarin) that introducing yourself and describes your objectives and motivation in applying for the programme.
  4. A written statement confirming your participation in SIAC’s internship programme does not violate the university’s policies and the relevant government regulations, if any, of your current country of residence and/or other relevant jurisdictions; and
  5. Letter(s) of reference and writing sample(s) (optional).
